Got To Be You

Australasian Breakbeat and Drum n Bass outfit Antiform’s music video features Salmonella Dub front man turned solo artist Tiki Taane.

what

Got To Be You was shot on the new Red camera by DOP Andrew Stroud, under the watchful eye of Fish ‘n Clips (Flying Fish) director Gary John.

John picks up the story: “Antiform wanted something quite commercial but still wanted to capture the band’s underground electronic status in the pictures. We shot over a long day at Zen nightclub (Auckland), a venue we chose for its variety of locations and looks under one roof.”

how

The director brought in DOP Andrew Stroud because of his extensive knowledge of the Red platform.

Stroud’s experience was crucial, shooting high energy action under low light conditions at fast frame rates.

John continues: “Watching the crowd dance and Tiki sing to the already fast paced track (played at 50fps) was interesting to say the least. It created some fanstiastic pictures and a few challenges that would need to be addressed in post."

Digipost digital artist Katy Wakefield handled the post production magic in Inferno.

“Digipost did a great job in tying all the scenes together, adding texture and shape to shots, creating transitions between scenes and some frame locking. It was all subtle stuff which at first glance is unnoticeable but actually holds the clip together.”
