Bajaj/

Thriller

synopsis

Highlighting the advanced fuel efficiency of the Bajaj product, an epic road movie unfolds, spanning ever changing landscapes and time-zones. Over the course of the two commercials, the first shot in Turkey and the second in Queenstown New Zealand, we follow the biker’s encounters as the Bajaj engine forms from a spirit, to an engine, to the brand new bike.

what

Digipost provided on-set VFX supervision in Turkey, shooting both real and simulated motorcycles set-ups. The real bike was either completely removed or replaced with 3D elements as the story developed. Unique transitions were designed for each element so they felt organic and alive.

how

The Digipost team was closely involved in the Bajaj commercials from the planning stage.

The 3D team, lead by James Cunningham and Greg Smith, worked for three weeks on each TVC. They modelled the entire bike, a digital double of the rider, and designed and animated the dynamic transitions.

The VFX were completed in Inferno by digital artists Stu Bedford and Jesse Parkhill.
Final grading in the Spirit Datacine® suite, by colourist Pete Williams, enhanced the rugged landscape and created an unusual feel to add mood.
