Axis titles Made at Digipost

March 2010
Senior digital artist Richard ‘Ritchie’ Betts, the Flame talent behind this year’s Axis opening titles animation, worked closely with TBWA\Whybin creatives to deliver what was a highly entertaining introduction to this year’s advertising awards.
Betts constructed the three-minute piece from a palate of custom-made psychodelic graphics, and using iconic stills and video documenting the history of advertising in New Zealand.
The tongue-in-cheek piece was set to a sound track that included mischievous commentary by comedian, Dai Henwood. Audio for the sequence was expertly delivered by Digipost sound designers, Clive Broughton and Adam Iles.
This year saw the 30th anniversary of our national awards, coinciding with Digipost’s 20th year as New Zealand’s leading post production house.
For those who aren’t easily offended, the opening sequence can be viewed here.
